How to FIX LAG in GTA 4 PC:

  • Go to Nvidia Control Panel and go to 3D Settings Manager
  • Then turn off the anisotropic filter and adjust:
  • Transparency preventing edges for multiple sampling
  • Adjust Edges to 2x
  • Texture filtering quality for high performance
  • Texture Filtering – Linear Operation Optimization
  • Texture filtering – passive LOD bias to allow
  • Threaded optimization is on
  • Vertical sync and triple buffering are on

Change these settings. The performance will definitely improve.

Worked with me.

  • 1. Update all of your drivers
  • 2. Check your background apps!
  • 3. Your operating system (Windows Vista) is too heavy.
  • 4. Change your Windows XP operating system and update your drivers (VGA, CPU, Sound Card, all).
  • 5. Defrag your hard drive.
  • 6. Boot into DirectX9 mode in Windows XP
