How to play GTA: Online:
You will need a PlayStation Plus membership if you want to play an online multiplayer game on your PS4. The same applies to Xbox One, where you are required to have an Xbox Live membership if you want to play GTA: Online.
However, on PC, you can play any game online, including GTA: Online for free, other than the game’s apparent cost of purchase.
Once you purchase GTA 5 from an online library like Steam or Epic Games Store, you can play the game. Starting the game will load the main menu of GTA 5.
From here, you can choose to go to “Story Mode” or “Online”. Selecting “Online” will directly enter you into GTA: Online and you can start your online experience.
The game will require you to create your character online first, then give you the option to play through a tutorial. Once that is complete, you can choose to do whatever you want in GTA: Online.
